TANDAN (EYOOM): A Song That Glows With Eternal Love

Some songs are heard, and some songs are felt. TANDAN belongs to the second kind, a piece of music that carries the immense weight of love, memory, and quiet, enduring loss. Its story began on a calm evening in 2020, when a single firefly fluttered into vocalist Khumukcham Bronson’s room. That tiny, glowing visitor became a sacred moment, its soft light awakening the feeling of his mother’s presence. It was as if her guidance had transformed into an inner glow that would never fade.

From that intimate spark emerged TANDAN, a heartfelt tribute to the mother who shaped him, inspired him, and remains his eternal guiding star. The song is a tender celebration of cherished memories and lessons, an emotional thank-you to Ema, whose love continues to echo in every note Bronson sings. But TANDAN extends beyond a personal remembrance. It resonates as a universal homage to every guiding light, every mother, mentor, or loved one whose influence shapes our lives in quiet yet profound ways.

A Collaboration of Talent and Emotion

The musical arrangement of TANDAN reflects the depth of emotion behind its creation. Bronson’s poignant vocals and lyrics form the heart of the piece, supported by a team of talented musicians who bring the story to life through sound.

Prasant Ningthoujam and Avinash Thounaojam weave delicate layers of guitar that add warmth and texture. Vishal Ngairangbam enriches the atmosphere with synth and brass elements, while Kenny Khoirom grounds the song with soulful bass. The final touch comes from Reagan Yumnam, whose drums provide a steady, heartfelt pulse. He also mixed and mastered the track, shaping its emotional resonance.

Together, they create a musical landscape that feels both intimate and expansive, allowing listeners to connect with their own memories and guiding lights.

Visual Poetry: The Videography of TANDAN

The music video for TANDAN, directed by Nelson Naoroibam, transforms Bronson’s personal memory into a visual narrative that speaks to anyone who has loved and lost. With Nellish Naoroibam as Director of Photography, the video captures the delicate interplay of light and shadow symbolizing guidance, memory, and the lingering presence of loved ones.

The storytelling is further brought to life by Moirangthem Johanson, who portrays the child version of Bronson, and Ellen Takhellambam, whose performance adds emotional depth and softness. Together, their portrayals evoke nostalgia, tenderness, and the profound bond between mother and child.

The editing, handled masterfully by SK Thokchom alongside Nelson, ensures the visuals flow in harmony with the music-gentle, reflective, and full of heart.

A Universal Message

At its essence, TANDAN is more than a song. It is a reminder, a tribute to the quiet forces that shape us, to the love that continues to guide us even after physical presence fades. Through both music and imagery, the project invites listeners to reflect on their own sources of strength, their own guiding stars.

This song is a warm embrace, a reminder of the best parts of the people we’ve loved and lost. It stands as a timeless offering to every guiding light and to the memories that continue to illuminate our lives long after their physical presence is gone.
